Leroy Logan MBE published in Lenny Henry’s Faber and Faber BLM-inspired anthology

Author and former Superintendent Leroy Logan MBE is one of 17 figureheads to contribute to a new anthology edited by Sir Lenny Henry and Marcus Ryder MBE.

Black British Lives Matter is a response to the international outcry after the murder of George Floyd in the United States in May 2020.

Commissioned by Henry and Ryder, the collection of essays discuss how and why the world needs to fight for Black lives to matter – not just for Black people – but society as a whole.

Recognising the Black British experience within the Black Lives Matter movement, seventeen Black prominent figures explain why Black lives should be celebrated when too often they are undervalued. Drawing from personal experience, they stress how Black British people have unique experiences and perspectives that enrich British society and ultimately the world.

Leroy said “I am pleased to have responded to the call of Lenny Henry and Marcus Ryder to take part in this significant publication at a critical time for our country, especially when it’s facing so many challenges that lay bare significant inequalities and injustices that need to be called out. Hopefully this publication will build on the momentum of change in society after the killing of George Floyd, in addition to the subsequent conviction and sentencing of his killer”.

Black British Lives Matter is available to pre-order now from Waterstones and will be released on November 18 2021.
